John B. O’Keefe has been an associate with the firm since 2006 and is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable John D. Bates of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Mr. O’Keefe completed his undergraduate studies at Tufts University, from which he graduated summa cum laude in 1997 with a degree in political science. He subsequently worked as a reporter at The Patriot Ledger in Quincy, Massachusetts and as an editor at USAToday.com and Legal Times in Washington, DC.
Mr. O’Keefe received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2005. He served as Book Reviews Editor on the managing board of the Virginia Law Review, which published his Note, Preserving Collective-Action Rights in Employment Arbitration, 91 Va. L. Rev. 823 (2005).
Mr. O’Keefe also is the author of Occupational Reputation, Opinion, and the Law of Defamation in Virginia, 5 Appalachian J.L. 35 (2006) and is the co-author of the annual survey of Virginia Employment Privacy Law published by the Media Law Resource Center. |
