Attorneys and Law Students
Although LSKS has an extremely limited number of openings for attorneys in any given year, the firm welcomes employment inquiries from law students and practicing attorneys with outstanding credentials who have a demonstrated interest in media law, intellectual property,or journalism. 2L and 3L summer associate candidates are encouraged to submit applications early in the fall recruiting season. 1L candidates should apply on or after December 1 of the recruiting year. From time to time, LSKS hires school-year law clerks. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis, and the length of the clerkship is determined on a case-by-case basis. When filling associate positions, LSKS typically seeks to hire attorneys who have worked for the firm as summer associates or law clerks.

Staff
LSKS typically lists staff openings, including secretarial, administrative, and paralegal positions, as they become available. The firm nevertheless welcomes employment inquiries from highly qualified applicants at any time, with the understanding that we will maintain your resume on file and contact you when there is an opening in your expressed area of interest. Applicants for staff positions should email a cover letter and resume to the firm’s Human Resources Manager.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation for attorneys and staff at LSKS offices is commensurate with major firms in the cities where LSKS offices are located that have similar workload expectations (LSKS attorneys’ yearly billable hour target is 1600).

LSKS offers a comprehensive benefits package to both attorneys and staff, including vacation, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave, family medical leave, medical, dental, and vision benefits, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and data reimbursement for mobile devices.

Attorneys who have completed federal clerkships are awarded bonuses when they join the firm immediately following their clerkship.
