LSKS is a firm of professionals
– lawyers and non-lawyers
– dedicated to solving the legal problems of its clients. Lawyers, like most people, perform at their best when they are able to enjoy a well-rounded life, comprised not only of challenging work, but also family, avocations, and personal development. The firm is committed to maintaining a culture that permits lawyers and staff alike to function at their best both professionally and personally.
Compensation for attorneys and staff at LSKS offices is commensurate with major firms in the cities where LSKS offices are located that have similar workload expectations. LSKS offers a comprehensive benefits package to attorneys and staff alike, including vacation, sick leave, maternal, paternal and family medical leave, medical and dental benefits, life and disability insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
LSKS is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all persons. The firm does not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, or other characteristics prohibited by law.
ATTORNEYS AND LAW STUDENTS
Although LSKS has an extremely limited number of openings for attorneys in any given year, the firm welcomes employment inquiries from law students and practicing attorneys with outstanding credentials. The successful applicant generally will be near the top of his or her law school class or possess significant professional experience demonstrating superior analytic and communication abilities. While demonstrated interest in media law or journalism is preferred, it is not a prerequisite.
LSKS participates in the National Association of Law Placement and actively recruits summer associates through on-campus interviews at several East Coast law schools, as well as school-year law clerks from Washington, D.C.-area and New York City-area schools. Students from schools elsewhere in the country interested in summer associate positions are encouraged to submit applications early in the fall recruiting season.
Applicants should submit via e-mail a cover letter, resume, writing sample and unofficial law school transcript to the recruiting attorney located in the office of their primary interest: Chad Bowman in the Washington, D.C., office, Alia Smith in the New York office, and Steven Zansberg in the Denver office. Applicants interested in our Philadelphia office should submit their materials to Ashley Kissinger, who is located in the Denver office.
STAFF
LSKS typically lists staff positions, including secretarial, administrative and paralegal, as they become available. The firm nevertheless welcomes employment inquiries from highly qualified applicants at any time, with the understanding that we will maintain your resume on file and contact you when and if there is an opening in your expressed area of interest. Applicants for staff positions should mail, fax or email a cover letter and resume to the Director of Administration in the Washington, D.C. office.
